1st Session Appointment Tips

Welcome to beginning the next part of your healing journey. It takes a lot of courage and determination to make that step to reach out. To start this process with me, please complete the information form on the scheduling page. I usually respond via email within 48 business hours. If it is taking me longer to respond, I am on vacation or at a training.

If I am taking new clients or clinicians for consultation, I will inform you on how we can get started. If I am not taking new clients or clinicians for consultation services, I will inform you about some resources within a community of professionals where you can take your next steps.

I do not keep waitlists. My experience with waitlists is that there tends to be a lot of frustration and miscommunication, which too often leaves the person who is trying to receive help alone and disappointed. I understand that it could be really difficult to accept this boundary. My hope is that my explanation for such a firm boundary can be received a bit easier. You deserve the best of whoever you decide to work with. This boundary helps me dedicate my energy and effort in providing better care.

Once you have received confirmation from me regarding scheduling, I will send you an invitation to create your client portal. The client portal will give you access to my live calendar. You will need to add a credit, debit, or HSA card on file to secure your appointment. For first sessions to be confirmed, I will need you to prepay your copay or session fee amount.

Within the client portal, there will be some paperwork that I will need you to complete at least 1 business day before our session. There will be a lot of information about how I work and provide you an opportunity to consent to doing that work together. I will also ask questions about you and your situation. Please answer to the best of your ability perfection is not needed or required.

There is a 48-hour cancellation policy, in an effort to honor our time together and provide me time to contact someone else who can take your time slot. I will need 48 hours to do so. If your appointment is not canceled before the 48-hour window, you will be charged the full session fee, which is $200 per session.

(Updated June 2026) As you arrive at 1300 N Palafox St, you will see that the parking lot is one way. Please enter the door on the Palafox side; You will see the sign on the front door. The lobby is located on the second floor. This video will walk you through getting to the lobby: https://youtu.be/eXOAfLtOI4Q The restroom is located on the second floor at the end of the hall. Feel free to wait in the lobby.

Please note that it is extremely common to feel nervous, excited, overwhelmed, numb and anything in between. All emotions are welcome. Please feel free to make yourself comfortable as you wait for our session. I will be with you shortly.
